Leiki Boardshort Co was built by a tribe of surfers from Ocean City, NJ. While on the beach together from dawn til dusk, the Leiki boys discovered that their boardshorts were a problem.
They were too thick, stiff, and caused painful chafing on their legs. Plus they would be dripping wet for over an hour, even in the sun, and wet boardshorts and sand are a recipe for disaster. Sure, the normal boardies were doable for a surf sesh here and there. But they weren't fit for what tribal surfers need.
Tribal surfers are the locals. They surf all day long. They spend their lives in the water and on the beach. They require a boardshort that is crafted for their unique lifestyle, that gets out of the way and actually helps them surf more, surf longer, and surf better.
The Leiki tribe envisioned a boardshort that was ultra lightweight, flexible, comfortable, seamless, and quick drying... one that equipped them properly for all day shredding.

Leiki Boardshort Co was born... from a joke between a couple of friends, right on the beach in Ocean City, NJ. This remarkably talented & driven surf tribe, developed a vision for building the highest quality boardshort on the market.
Eventually, the time came for them to pass the torch. They felt that they were the ones to create the product, and that another from the tribe was to take it to the next level.
That's where we entered the picture. Our family (The Sciarrettas) are a surf tribe from neighboring Ventnor City, and we were given the honor and duty to carry the work of the Leiki boys to the worldwide surf tribe.
We vowed to honor all that they had built at the highest level, and to bring their creation to surfers around the globe. After shutting down completely for over a year for intense behind the scenes work, Leiki was rebirthed with fresh new branding, boardshorts, and apparel that are an absolute tribute to the Leiki boys, our own surf tribe, and your's as well.
